"Dark and inviting in the glass with a soft beige long lasting head clinging to the glass as each mouthful is savoured. Coffee and chocolate on the nose and on the palette, sweet maltiness in the mid-turn contrasted out but beautifully balanced by a roasted bitterness on the back end and a long lasting after taste in the mouth. This ale is a triumph and a fitting tribute to the years of experience and knowledge Fullers have gained in the brewing business."

A Proper Porter
"A great porter is rare. This one is superb. Not too bitter, with a nut flavour, and the roasted barley giving a dark, black colour. The finish is sweet after the initial bitter, nutty flavour hits the tongue. It's very moreish, so be careful! At 7.5% ABV it might take you unaware!"
