As an aging Northerner, my
"As an aging Northerner, my youthful experience of London beers during football visits sadly confirmed an existing prejudice. Then 40 years ago 'London Pride' magically appeared in one of my favourite Sheffield pubs-lovely stuff! Now to the point. 1845 is a marvellous bottled beer. Most definitely not a session beer. It's something to sup gently with proper appreciation. I found it to be very happy. It felt in my mouth as if it was stimulating my salivary glands, or maybe that was a mere sensation. A very pleasant sensation. Very hoppy but perfectly balanced by the clearly generous and quality malt in this beer. This is a beer to be drunk and tasted when you fancy a treat. Lovely Jubbly."

A clean and well-flavoured beer
"A clean and well-flavoured beer which benefits from being chilled - but not to the level of iced-so-you-can't-taste-it. Good value for a product of the quality."

Real ale as it was
"Real ale as it was meant to taste. Conditioned in the bottle, nothing added, nothing taken away. Exactly as it was meant to be. Absolutely perfect."

"Powerful flavour with a rich aftertaste, I’m going to try this with some cheeses instead of wine"

"I drink a lot of top quality Belgian ales and this compares very favourably with them. It’s a deep, sophisticated mature brew and is still “alive” when you open it fue to the bottle conditioning. I like it a lot."

A nice full bodied ale,
"A nice full bodied ale, I’m not really keen on what I believe to be the roasted barley flavour in the ale."
