Description

Brewed in 1995 to celebrate our 150th anniversary. A bottle conditioned recipe inspired by the original Fuller's brewing books. The Amber malts and Goldings hops combine to create a superb fruitcake aroma along with the biscuity & nutmeg malt.

Brew Notes

Best poured slowly, 1845 delivers a sweet, fruit cake aroma, a dark tawny colour and a dry finish that sings of spices and raisin. Those fruity characteristics harmonise perfectly with the biscuity malts amid a clever and complex range of subtle flavours, the depth of which you could only find in a live beer fermented in the bottle.

I drink a lot of

"I drink a lot of top quality Belgian ales and this compares very favourably with them. It’s a deep, sophisticated mature brew and is still “alive” when you open it fue to the bottle conditioning. I like it a lot."

I'm always on the look

"I'm always on the look out for bottle conditioned beers so was pleased to see that Fullers actually had a couple in their current line up. The 1845 ticks all my boxes, it has that strength that is reminiscent of the Belgian Trappist ales I used to enjoy in my youth and is very drinkable, perfect for sipping on a summer evening at my garden bar!"

4. 5 Nice clean beer full

"4. 5 Nice clean beer full of flavour and good after task. Pours well and has a decent head as you would except from bottled conditioned beer. The 1845 & London Porter are excellent bottled beers. Never tried these on draught as I am not sure they are available."
