Deep chestnut brown in colour.

"Deep chestnut brown in colour. On the nose, malty, fruity and sweet. Superb for cooler weather and is great served lightly chilled. Slight spicing on the tongue, dark fruits and biscuity flavour with hoppy bitterness on the back end, good carbonation, sweet caramel on the front end. Superbly balanced ale from Fullers once more."

Fullers Old Winter Ale was

"Fullers Old Winter Ale was major find for me, an ales enthusiast. It has that rare combination of richness as well as refreshing with a long, lingering after taste, as well as strong enough to have a bit of a kick. Unlike a lot of Christmas or Winter Ales it is no cloying, not catching the throat and nothing like liquidised Christmas pudding. I can honestly say that is one of the best beers I have ever drunk, along with Abbot Ale as it used to be & the now sadly closed Ringwood beers."
